Q. Can I choose who I would like to book?
A. Yes you can but we will need to check availability directly with that person
Q. How much is travel?
A. Travel is worked out based on the postcode of the person / people you book to the postcode you need them to come to for the wedding date and trial. We charge £1 per mile, one way only.
Q. Do I have to have a trial?
A. We strongly advise that Brides have trials with our team. It relaxes both parties and ensures the morning goes as smoothly as possible. However we understand that this isn't always possible and we will work with you to ensure you have communicated your qishes through photos and discussions with your make-up artist / hair stylist. If a trial isn't possible, you could consider booking a 30 minute video consultation. It's an opportunity to discuss your requirements face to face with your chosen artist / artists.
Q. There's too much choice, can you chose for me?
A. With a bit of direction on what you're looking for Emily can absolutely help to find the right person / people for you?
Q. Can I book just for the bride?
A. Yes you can however we have a minimum spend for each date. Monday- Thursday the minimum spend is £250. Friday - Sunday bookings the minimum spend is £300. This doesn't include travel costs, move fees or early start charges. The trial fee is on top of this.
Q. Can I book more than one make-up artist or hair stylist?
A. Of course you can, just discuss your requirements with Emily and she will do her best to find you the best and most cost effective option for you.
Q. How long does hair and make-up take?
This is something you will need to discuss directly with your hair stylist and make-up artist, but allowing about 45 mins per person per service, with 1 hour per service for the bride, will give you a relatively good idea of how long you need. But if you could book with us and would like it, then we can provide a custom made wedding morning plan to ensure your day runs smoothly.
Q. Can you come to me for my trial?
The vast majority of our girls will happily travel to you for your trial. However a few work out of salons and prefer to hold trials there or from their homes. This isn't set in stone though, so if this is something you feel strongly about please let Emily know and she will do her best to ensure we can work around this.
Q. Can I come to you for the trial?
Some of the team have salons that they can host you in, others are also very happy to accommodate you at home. We don't have a specific salon for trials as our girls are based all over the South West, but will do our best to accommodate your needs.
Q. How long is the trial?
A. We allow up to 2 hours for 1 service, this allows time to play with ideas you might have and try an alternative if the first look isn't quite right.
Q. What if I'm not happy with my hair and make-up after the trial?
A. In this instance we would ask you to contact us so that we can discuss your options, this is however extremely rare.
Q. Can I have a trial prior to paying my booking fee?
A. Unfortunately not. It's our policy to take a booking fee prior to the trial, as without a this fee, the team can be booked by other interested parties and this would be a waste of your time. The booking fee secures your wedding date with the stylist / artist and stops other interested parties from booking them.
Q. Do you do hair extensions?
A. Some of our hair team are experienced in hair extensions. If this is something you are going to need, then please mention this on booking so that we can ensure we pair you with someone suitable. Hair extension costs would be discussed directly with the girls and not through South West Bridal Hair and Make-up as costs vary.
Q. How do I pay?
The booking fee can be paid via bank transfer. Trial fees are due 48 hours prior to the trial directly to the artist / stylist. Final balances are due directly to the stylist / artist no later than 4 weeks prior to your wedding date, via bank transfer.
