There's endless inspiration for brides and bridesmaids styling, but mums often get left behind a little. At the time when you're feeling emotional, proud but also a little nervous and you want to look your best. Mum's often have a good idea of what they don't want but can feel pressured into wearing more makeup than they're comfortable with or wearing a hat, just because tradition says they should. Well do away with tradition and follow your heart. I hope the following inspiration helps to reassure mums that they can be how ever they want to be.
So here we go with mother of the bride / groom hair and makeup TIP's!
TIP!
Let's start with hair. Are you planning to wear a hat or fascinator? This is likely to be the first question your stylist will ask when it comes to helping you choose your hair style. If you are having a trial (which isn't absolutely necessary) try to have your accessory with you.

TIP!
If you usually have a simple blow dry and would feel very uncomfortable having your hair styled in any other way, then don't be afraid to say this.

TIP!
If you're having your hair done by someone that you've not had before, then have a chat with your own hair stylist about they might advise that would work for you and your hair, this will help you advise the stylist.

TIP!
Talk to your stylist before the day about how your hair needs to be when you sit in the chair. I.e when you should wash it.

If you plan to wear a hat then talk to your stylist about how to avoid hat hair when you remove it.

Make-up
TIP!
Remember the camera bleaches the skin and can make you look like you're wearing a lot less make-up than you actually are, so if lasting memories are what you're after, and then pictures are really important, then consider the level of make-up you go for.

TIP!
Moisturise, as we get older our skin gets drier. It's very hard to make make-up look fresh and glowy on very dry skin. So give your skin so love and moisturise. Look at products that include hyaluronic acid or polyglutamic acid.

TIP!
Show your outfit to your MUA. This will help them create a look that will work with both your colourings and your outfit.

TIP!
If you don't really know what you want, then maybe start by describing what you don't want and allow the artist to do what they do best and create a look to suit you.

TIP!
Bring your own make-up bag with you. It's really helpful to see what you use day to day, to help us gauge how best to create a look to suit you and make you feel comfortable.
